The story of the "Buddha Bar" is the
one of a dreamer, indeed while walking just a step from the
"Concorde Place", Raymond Visan, imagines in the sight
of a store a room as high as ceiling out of the ordinary a haven
of peace where the palace, the hearing and the sight would be
treated by concert. This immense ceiling evokes him at once
an Asian temple, one of these places in the strange charm, as
it exists there so much in Asia. He does not delay purchasing
places and puts a team of decorators in the work, an immense
Buddha soon overhangs of his friendly glance two warmly exotic
rooms, a bar and a restaurant. The place plunges you henceforth
into a neo-colonial indo-portuguese decoration which reminds
of Goa. The restaurant proposes dishes of a pacific-ream inspiration,
an Asiatic-western kitchen native of Hawaii. As for the bar,
he also proposes a sound universe of a big wealth, based on
a sophisticated and spied on world sound system.
DJ Ravin is at the origin of this band sound, to
summarize, the story of the "Buddha Bar" is also,
that of a story of love, for a universe, a place into which
one wanted to breathe a soul out of the ordinary.
